Default Zalman ZM-MFC3 Fan Speed Controller Review

Just got delivered Zalman ZM-MFC3 Fan Speed Controller from Korea.
I wanted to use this speed controller for my new PC and can not wait until this product is available in US. So, I ordered it from Korea and it just took a week from order to delivered.

Pros: This controller has great shape and perfectly fit in 5.25" drive bay. LCD panel is clear and able to recognize the numbers on LCD panel from many different angles. The color of this controller is combination of dark grey and black which is going very well with Zalman GS1000 computer case. This controller support upto 3x3pin fans and 1x4pin fan(pwm). Also this controller supports 4 temparature sensors, so you measure the temperature of your computer components like motherboard, case, graphic card, memory or power box, etc. Based on the temperature of your computer component, you may adjust the fan speed to control the temperature. The good thing of this speed controller is, you are able to see the current power usage through the CVS monitoring. Computer professionals may prefer this product because it supports the fan speed by increasing 10 rpm. Comparing with other fan speed controllers, this is a great product and providing better options like current power usage and total computer turned-on time.

Cons: This contoroller does not have 4pin to 3 pin converter. So, to measure the CPU fan speed which is coming with i7 core, you may need the 4pin to 3pin converter. Otherwise, we can not measure the CPU fan speed. Only the way would be thru other utilities or BIOS.
Only 4 thermal tapes provided to use the temperature sensor. So, if you move around the temperature sensor several times, then you may purchase extra thermal tape to attach the temperature sensor to the area where you want the measure the temperature. My suggestion to Zalman is using the thermal glue instead of tape. Thermal glue would be more effecitve to attach the sensor to the device. The glue should be the soft glue, so the sensor could be placed or replaced easily. The thmperature sensor cable and speed controller cables are a little short to be used in full power case. When the controller is placed on the top of full tower drive bay and trying to measure the temperature of the power box at the bottom (for example, GS1000 full tower), it would be little hard to reach from controller to power box. A Zalman product is not perfect fit to other Zalman product?
The price of Zalman ZM-MFC3 would be about 69.99 in US market, that is almost equivalent with 80,000 Korean won. So, even you buy this production from the manufacturing country, you need to pay the same amount of money.

Overall: This is a great device to measure the temperature of your computer because Zalman ZM-MFC3 Fan Speed Controller comes with 4 temperature sensors. If you really want to control the temperature of your PC, this product would be your number 1 consideration. Each to change the fan speed and most stable system in the market.

The following is the Spec of Zalman ZM-MFC3 Fan Speed Controller

- One ZM-MFC3
- One CVS (Ampere/Voltage Sensor)
- One CVS Extension Bracket
- One Temperature Sensors
- One C3 Cable
- One Y Cable
- One 4-Pin Cable
- One 3-Pin Cable
- One Bracket Screw
- Four ZM-MFC3 Installation Screw

Zalman affixes a Computer Noise Prevention System (CNPS) mark to all components used for noiseless computers.
Plugging in the CVS Cable of the CVS into the motherboard’s USB port may damage the motherboard and CVS.
If the current to be measured exceeds 10A (RMS), use a cable or conductor that allows current greater than the current to be measured to flow through it, and always connect protective grounding prior to use of this instrument.
