Default Windows 2012 R2 - Not responsive, network shows high upload traffic

This issue started happening suddenly.

Issue - On Windows 2012 R2 servers, the system was almost not responsive and based on research, network adapter spent most of system resources to upload (forward) the data to router.

When checked the network resource monitor thru task manager, the lsass.exe process showed spending most of network bandwidth to upload the data (probably more than couple of Mbytes per seconds).

This is not related to the malware, spyware or virun scanning tools like McAfee.

Solutions:
Go to Windows Firewall settings from Control Panel. Select Advanced Settings.
Block the TCP/UDP port 389.

If the router allows port blocking, you can also try blocking the port from router level.
